The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) is to build an auditorium at the University of Uyo in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
Managing Director of the commission, Nsima Ekere, announced this on Sunday during an interactive session with members of the university’s senior staff club at the club house in Uyo.
Ekere told members of the club, mostly lecturers, that he was in the process of awarding contract for the construction of the auditorium.
He noted with delight that the dualization of the access road to the university’s permanent campus was completed while work was nearing completion on the flood channelisation and hostel construction, still at the permanent campus.
Ekere, the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), said he would explore the possibility of constructing an access road to the club house in the remaining period of his stay at NDDC but promised to execute the project immediately on assumption of office as governor in 2019 if he was unable to do so at NDDC.
